My last wedding of 2024 could not have been more meaningful or heartwarming. As one of the Richmond wedding photographers, I’ve been blessed to witness and capture so many love stories this year—so much so that I can’t even think about 2024 without tearing up. Every couple I’ve worked with has left a lasting impression, and Raphaella and Justin’s wedding was the perfect way to wrap up a season of unforgettable weddings and meaningful relationships on the most beautiful fall day.

When Raphaella reached out to me about their plans for an intimate ceremony at Forest Hill Park in Richmond, I knew it would be special (and I crossed my fingers for a sunny day at the park!). There’s something deeply personal about smaller weddings—they bring such a sense of warmth and connection, making me feel not just like the photographer but like part of the family.

We arrived at the park a little early for couple’s portraits by the lake, capturing the stunning autumn colors that made the perfect backdrop. Then, we headed to the ceremony spot near the historic stone house, where they exchanged heartfelt vows in front of their closest loved ones. It was a simple yet incredibly moving celebration, proving that weddings don’t need to be grand to be unforgettable. After the ceremony, the couple and their family gathered for an intimate dinner, celebrating their new beginning in the most meaningful way.
